WOW, this is an incredible feeling. Waking up in the morning and looking at little Alexanders face, even though it is only a photo. Needless to say that we are very, very happy at the moment and obviously now waiting impatiently for the inivitation letter and the date on which we can go to China. But hey, we are very good in 'the waiting game' and we have lots of friends who are getting better in this game as well!! and in the meantime we keep on celebrating.....and hey, guess what:

Our friends are very good in this game as well!! We love you!

The long wait has an end!!!!

We got the photos yesterday afternoon!!!

We are absolutely overjoyed to introduce you our son

Alexander Huai Gan

He was born on 9 February 2006, brought to the Children's Welfare Institute of Shanghai City on 22 Feb 2006. According to his growth report he is on target of intellectual development. 'He is a very handsome, clever and adorable boy. When he is happy he would giggle.' Sounds like a perfect son for us !!

We are walking on clouds!!
Life is wonderful!!
Here is the Chinese name for Alexander:

The stork has taken off ...direction CESSY

....Lars called our adoptionagency AC this morning to check on our letter:
They will send it out TODAY before lunchtime via courier. YES!!!!!! (Unfortunately I don't know which company they are using...bummer, no way to track the letter)

In the meantime check out this link:
http://adoptie.wiesener.nl/Shanghai-sept-2007/Welcome.html

It has photos and a video from our sons orphanage. I am delighted that it looks so nice, clean and well cared. I wonder if our son is on this video....

Tomorrow we will know more.... We are sooo ready: The Champagne is on ice already

And we are back to the waiting again

Today I have received a message from L. from of our adoptiongroup in Denmark, that our
Adoptionagency AC have received the translated papers. We will hear from them later today. Apparently all children look healthy and in 'good condition'.

But it looks like we have ONE more week to go before we finally see the

pictures! DAH !!!!

Wow, what a day we had yesterday!! An emotional rollercoaster. We will never forget this day.

And again:
Thanks to all our friends who were so happy with and ofr us and definetly enjoyed celebrating with us last night!!!!! YOU ROCK !!!!!

I also want to say Hi to our adoptiongroup in Denmark: CONGRATULATIONS to you all!

We are 9 parents adopting from Shanghai together...and what a surprise we had yesterday: From 9 children 8 were boys!!!!! What are the odds for that.
Anyway, I did my first shopping trip, I bought some very cute clothes for our son (Not too much, as we still don't know his size and weight...and we don't want to have more surprises, haha.)

Now, back to the waiting again..this time for the medical and the PHOTOS...tic, tac, tic, tac

We have a baby boy !!!

The waiting time is over:

All we know is that he is from Shanghai and he was born on 09.02.2006.

Lars and myself are OVER THE MOON!

Now I am off home to celebrate.
Well, what should I say....are we surprised that we heard NOTHING yesterday.

No, not really!!

Our whole adoption process we spend with waiting, postponing, waiting etc....

After a very emotional day yesterday, I would love to take the opportunity to thank all our friends for all their support...you are with us and share our expectations, comfort me when I am down and then ....bang: Make me laugh (You know who you are!)

Many, many thanks to all our wonderful friends. I love you all very much! I can't wait to finally celebrate with you.

Now, back to the waiting again....

Referrals have arrived....

This morning as usual I have checked the RQ page and almost burst into tears:

Referrals have arrived in the US!!!

It's only a matter of hours now (I so hope) until we will get ours...

I hardly can't breathe, everytime I think about it I have tears in my eyes...and inbetween colleagues call or come into my office and expect me to do some work... HA! Little do they know...

Breathe, breathe....

I can hardly compose myself enough to type this entry, but I just pulled myself away from RQ to let you all know that packages are being tracked, that they could contain referrals, they could come end of the week and that they will be through November 28.
My heart is pounding, my stomach is making funny noises,I hardly can sleep at night and I can't even begin to control the many thoughts spinning through my head right now. To think that maybe next week, we'll have seen our child's face.....I can't believe it all. To know that I am possibly within days of becoming a Mom.....It's going to be an emotional week due to PRS (pre-referral-stress). Until the BIG day....we're in labor and the contractions are getting closer, and closer and closer. I think my water's about to break!!!!!
